Who this policy covers
This policy describes how Bogey & Company handles information collected through thebogeycompany.com, our online designer, our checkout flow, our event inquiry forms, and our on-site event activations.
Information we collect
- Account information. Email address and authentication details when you create an account or sign in, including sign-in through Google if you choose it.
- Design content. Artwork you upload, text you enter, AI prompts you submit in the designer, and the saved designs linked to your account.
- Order information. Items, quantities, customization details, order status, and the shipping and contact details needed to fulfill an order.
- Event and contact information. Name, email, phone, company, event name, date, location, expected guest count, and the notes you send us.
- Usage information. Pages viewed, referring source, campaign parameters, approximate device and browser type, and interactions such as adding to cart or starting checkout.
Payments and the Shopify handoff
Checkout is completed on Shopify. When you proceed to checkout, your cart and customization details are passed to Shopify, and the payment, billing, and shipping information you enter there is collected and processed by Shopify and its payment processors under their own terms and privacy practices. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers.
How we use information
- To prepare proofs, produce orders, and ship products.
- To respond to inquiries and prepare event proposals.
- To operate accounts, save designs, and enable reorders.
- To send transactional messages such as proofs, order updates, and event follow-ups.
- To send updates or waitlist messages when you have asked for them; you can unsubscribe at any time.
- To understand site performance and improve the ordering experience.
- To secure our systems, prevent abuse, and meet legal or tax obligations.
Service providers
We use third-party providers to run the business, and they process information on our behalf under their own terms:
- Our backend platform, which provides authentication, database storage, and file storage for accounts, designs, uploads, orders, and inquiries.
- Shopify, for commerce, checkout, and payment processing.
- Email delivery services, for transactional and requested messages.
- AI providers, for optional artwork generation from prompts you submit in the designer.
- Shipping carriers, for delivery and tracking.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Analytics, cookies, and local storage
We run first-party analytics on our own infrastructure. It records page views, referrer, campaign parameters, device and browser type, and key actions such as starting a design or beginning checkout, grouped into a site session. This analytics data is not used for advertising and is not sold.
We use browser local storage and similar technologies for essential functions, including keeping you signed in, remembering your cart, and holding an in-progress design. Shopify sets its own cookies during checkout. Blocking or clearing this storage may sign you out or clear your cart.
Security
Access to accounts, designs, orders, and inquiries is protected by authentication and database access rules, and traffic is encrypted in transit. Administrative access to production data is limited, and certain administrative views of order data are logged. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Retention
We keep account, design, order, and event records for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide service, resolve disputes, support reorders and reprints, and meet legal, accounting, and tax requirements. Analytics records are kept in aggregate or session-level form for trend analysis. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
Your choices and requests
- You can update account details or delete saved designs while signed in.
- You can unsubscribe from non-transactional email using the link in those messages.
- You can ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold by emailing hello@thebogeycompany.com. We may need to verify your request, and we may retain records required for legal or accounting purposes.
- Information you submitted through Shopify checkout may also be subject to Shopify's own privacy controls.
Children
Our site and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Where information is processed
We operate in the United States, and information is processed and stored in the United States or wherever our service providers operate. If you use the site from outside the United States, you understand information will be processed here.
